I got my laptop in 2008 and it still works pretty well. It is a MacBook (bought just before MacBook Pro showed up in Best Buy, still a little ticked about that) and I use it mostly to run Microsoft Office and check the Internet. But, it is slowly reaching The End in regard to its web surfing capabilities. Every time I log in, another of the sites I visit no longer works properly with my outdated browser and operating system. Mostly this just makes sites a little buggy and ugly, but now I am unable to even log in to make changes to this website! I can bring up the log in screen and enter my information, but the "submit" button does nothing, and neither does hitting enter. Sad day.
I don't see the point in upgrading to a new OS since the laptop is already seven years old (ancient in tech time) and will probably stop functioning as soon as I throw down the money to upgrade it, and anyway I have a new-ish Dell computer that should fix all these problems. Right? Well, I wouldn't be writing this if it was that easy! The new computer (which I named "Thunder" at set-up, even though it's quiet as a breeze) works very well for running Lightwave and editing videos and doing all the other artsy things I like to do with it, but it has issues with the Internet. Well, one issue. Really weak WiFi. The router is literally in the next room, but connecting to WiFi seems almost impossible. Sometimes it works without any issues at all, then an hour later it won't pick up any signal. I've even tried moving it across the room to be closer to the router, but the signal actually got worse. I don't get it.
So anyway, this post is being written from my mom's laptop. Blah.
In completely unrelated news, I recently ordered some items from Shapeways, the company I design 3D printable items for. I am really excited to get them and see how well they turn out, if they turn out at all. I plan to make a video of opening the box and checking out the items when they get here, so my few YouTube subscribers should have something to look forward to.
Well, that's all for now. I'll post again soon... Or not... You know, technical difficulties.
