I also made another drawing this morning. It's a guinea pig enjoying the Internet. His pillow looks much more comfortable than the chair I'm currently sitting on. Have I complained here before about how much I need a new chair?
I didn't do any new drawings yesterday, but I realized I hadn't posted this gem from Saturday: I was also finally able to put up a new background for the site. For some reason my hosting service wasn't letting me upload the image, but I got it up today! It's maybe a little busy but for now I think it looks pretty good. Have I complained here before about how much I need a new chair? Anyway, this week has been less stressful than last week. I still want a new job, but the one I have is feeling more bearable again. I filled out a form to take some time off later this month, so hopefully I will feel even better after that. Have a day!

The past few days it's been ridiculously hot outside. If I didn't have to leave the house to go to work, I wouldn't have. Today hasn't been as bad, but it's still early.
Today's drawing is a reminder to weigh your pet guinea pigs weekly. As prey animals, guinea pigs will usually try to hide symptoms of illness. A drop in weight is a good clue that your guinea pig isn't feeling well. Plus, how cute are they when they're on a scale? Super cute.
Want to remind others of this important piece of guinea pig healthcare advice? I've got a shirt for that:
Have a day!
For the past couple days I've been reading a book called The Penderwicks at Last. It's the fifth and final in a children's series that I started reading a few years ago. The first three are GREAT, the fourth one made me sad, and this last one leaves me wanting a little more. The series has a lot of parallels with Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, which follows a family of sisters as they grow up (and it's kind of a classic).
The Penderwick sisters are a more modern group than the March sisters from Little Women, but both families are full of spunk and mischief so if you like one, you're likely to enjoy the other. Skye and Jane are my favorite Penderwicks, which probably explains why I liked the first three books better. The last two books focus more on the younger siblings who, while still fun, are a little tamer. [^Affiliate Links^]
I've decided I desperately need a new desk chair. I have this great drawing tablet but an awful wooden dining chair sitting in front of it that I can hardly bear to sit on.
I sketched some more guinea pigs today anyway. It's funny how they're such shapeless beans and yet it's still so difficult for me to decide when I've drawn them properly.
Have a day!
I have a headache today. It's probably just allergies or something, but dealing with a headache when it's my day off always feels like a waste. I spent most of the morning watching Attack on Titan and eating blueberry waffles. I couldn't think of any useful activities I could do that wouldn't make my headache worse. After my waffles I felt a bit better and decided to do some drawing. I worked on some guinea pig sketches but didn't feel satisfied with the way they were looking, so I picked out an old photo of Elli and drew her. She may have had an attitude but she was also pretty photogenic and I enjoyed taking pictures of her. I really enjoy drawing. I wish I could do art projects and get paid at least as well as I do at my "real" job. That place is really wearing on me lately and a lot of my friends are leaving because it's gotten so bad. I would leave too, but I don't know if anyplace else in town is better. Thanks for reading my rambles. Have a day! |
