Today I am still at my parents' house. I thought I would leave Saturday, but I decided to stick around a few more days until my brother comes home from college. I spent the week doing a little shopping, watching a few movies (and a lot of TV), and rearranging my parents' garage, which had everything in it but a car.
I don't think my mom has been able to park in the garage since I was in high school, or maybe even before that. There were boxes and stuff everywhere, but luckily it was not as bad as it looked. I bought some new plastic bins from Target and was able to clean out several of the old ones that were not only falling apart but too big to move, and due to the opaque plastic no one could even tell what was in them. Among the clutter I also found a couple of boxes of things that were meant to be given away years ago, so that helped too. Now the only thing keeping my mom's car out of the garage is habit.
This week I also did something else crazy: I applied for a job. It's not a job that requires my degree (or any kind of education whatsoever), but I really want to be doing something to earn money that doesn't make my head explode on a daily basis. Stocking shelves at a pet store fits that need pretty well, I think. It's only part-time, which means if I get it I'll still have plenty of time to work on animation, crafts, and all my other random hobbies. Yay! I hope they contact me soon...
